This textural independence within a manmade enclosure sitting in a natural environment exists as a metaphor for mankind’s industrial activities. The work illustrates that although this often has a disruptive effect on our natural landscape, if approached with a sensitivity and understanding of interdependency, these activities can exist in, and enhance, our appreciation of nature – just as the sculpture enriches the natural beauty of its setting by responding to light and weather conditions.
