    "Art inspiring Art"

A 2025 photography exhibition capturing the relationship between ballet and sculpture, shot amongst iconic works at Broomhill.

Shapes and forms inspire a synergy that creates a body of work celebrating the fluidity of dance within the art of sculpting.

All works are now available for purchase.

  • Jousha Daniels @ Canvas

Joshua Daniels brilliantly balances deep, thought-provoking themes with a touch of light-heartedness. His art showcases a mix of subtle pastels and standout primary colours, inviting viewers to both reflect and revel in the moment.

Fall / Winter 2023 Canvas exhibition.

  • John Hurford @ Canvas

    John Hurford @ Canvas

We were honoured to host a Summer 2023 installation of renowned and influential British psychedelic artist John Hurford. Seven hyper-realistic large works were featured in our Canvas Restaurant.

John is local to North Devon (Chulmleigh). John and his partner are cherished long-time ‘friends’ of Broomhill.

  • RSS "In Harmony"

We were thrilled to host ‘In Harmony’ a partnership with the Royal Society of Sculptors with an inaugural exhibition at the estate, Featuring some of the UK’s leading sculptors.

Each of the 27 artworks had a bespoke planting scheme embodying the ethos of the gardens, complementing the artwork’s aesthetic and concepts.

  • The National Sculpture Prize

Broomhill has hosted the UK’s National Sculpture Prize for outdoor emerging artists 11 times in our gardens. In time we’ll add more context regarding each competition.

For now, view all the works individually on this site through using the site menu.

  • "147 Women Dinner Party"

“147 Women Dinner Party” was a 2022 installation by Sophie Parkin & Mandee Gage, about women who should be better remembered, for how they have been instrumental in making and changing  Britain.

Each of the 147 ceramic pieces is dedicated to one of these great women.

  • "Hollywood Comes to North Devon"

Broomhill hosted a number of iconic original items of cinema memorabilia in its cinema lounges. Items all on display included the final-scene Jumanji board, the Kurgan sword from Highlander, the bar of soap from Fight Club and a life-size Alien Xenomorph Queen & Predator.

Not bad at all for the price of a £5 sculpture park ticket!

  • "Welcome to the Third Millennium"

A harrowing and breathtaking installation by Mike Roles that takes as its theme the irony of the rhetoric and hype which heralded the coming of the third millennium, which promised a new beginning and a better and more peaceful world.  The world did change, dramatically but not as predicted.

A dystopian body of work commenting on the challenges facing humanity and its survival.

  • "Chaos in Paradise"

A Winter 2021 / Spring 2022 installation in the restaurant and throughout the hotel by Judith Burrows, a multi-disciplinary artist, photographer, and award-winning filmmaker.

  • "ARTEYE" Photo Competitions

A number of photo competitions have been held over the years, with submissions from the public taking pictures in the gardens.

Some of the images are off the charts amazing - we’ll load them and credit the photographers when we get a chance. Come back to check them out.
