Artist Statement

I use photography to capture specific vantage points of architecture. Our viewpoints have an inherent human scale, which identifies with spatial interaction. I fragment and isolate these sections of architecture. I cut and fold these images, looking for ways to restore three-dimensionality, creating a new relationship with image and structure. The image becomes a tool to decide scale, form, material and surface - all of which are defined through the making process. It becomes translated into something physical, shifting the original perception of the architecture.
