My practice encompasses performance, video and sculpture. I draw upon wider cultural ideas, images, anecdotes and biographies; these are appropriated, explored, extrapolated and transformed. My work with performance and film often features props and objects, which act as a catalyst for an activity to take place. My most recent work has been concerned with performance that explores the dynamics of and relationships between the body and landscape. I see my work as concerned with the cultural mining of images –and of social or communal memory; as such it aims to straddle the liminal spaces in between the past and the present, the authentic and the inauthentic.
