North Devon Soap are hosting two beginners soap making courses at Broomhill Estate.
Using 100{becadb6bdea5a41ab443f196aae132715666f0f63ec5a71582903b9f050de250} natural butters, oils and botanicals, you will discover the ancient art of cold process soap making. You will learn about the history of soap making, the ingredients you are using, how to make 100{becadb6bdea5a41ab443f196aae132715666f0f63ec5a71582903b9f050de250} natural soap bars using the cold process method plus plenty of tips and tricks from the soap maker herself!
Your day will look like:
- Introductions
- Brief history of Soap Making
- Introduction to Ingredients and Soap Making Equipment
- Soap Making Demonstration
- Soap Making
All equipment provided but please bring a clean 1 litre size “tetrapak” drinks carton, an apron, a towel and a cardboard box large enough to fit the drinks carton in. At the end of the course you will take away 7-8 large bars of 100{becadb6bdea5a41ab443f196aae132715666f0f63ec5a71582903b9f050de250} natural bar soap which you can use as body wash or shampoo. (The carton, towel and box will be used to take your soap home.)
There will be 2 courses on the same day (am and pm) with a shared lunch in the middle.
AM course: 10am – Midday
Midday : Lunch for everyone (AM and PM course together)
PM course : 2pm – 4pm
Each course will last approximately 2 hours. Your course fee will include lunch as guests of Broomhill Dining and all day access to the Sculpture Gardens.

Please note you will be wearing visors throughout the course, asked to socially distance at all times and asked to regularly wash your hands with a soap bar!
